Guru Nanak Jayanti
D.G.S.G. Public School celebrated the sacred occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti with devotion and enthusiasm, honoring the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the revered founder of Sikhism. The event, organized by the school’s faculty and students, aimed to impart the values of compassion, equality, and humility as embodied in Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life.
The celebrations began with Shri Sukhmani Sahib Path. Then students shared inspiring stories from Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life, highlighting his teachings on universal brotherhood and selfless services. The students performed shabad kirtan that filled the atmosphere with peace and devotion. Teachers and students also recited verses from the Guru Granth Sahib, followed by a brief reflection on the relevance of these teachings in today’s world.
Guru ka Langar was organized in the school premises, reinforcing Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s principle of serving all without discrimination. This activity helped students understand the values of unity and sharing, and everyone, including students, teachers, and staff, participated with enthusiasm. On this auspicious occasion, School took initiative to honour its excellent students who got positions in the last academic year with certificates and prizes. As Guru’s teachings teach us ‘Kirat Karo’, the
school proved that students who did hard work, they got their fruits of hard work which encouraged other students also to do hardwork in future to get good results. Winners were recognized and encouraged to keep embodying these values in their daily lives.
School President Mrs. Gurpal Kaur and Director Mr. Daanish Grewal ji graced the occasion with their presence and expressed pride in the students for embracing the spirit of the occasion, saying, “It is a pleasure to see our students engaged in learning and honoring the timeless values taught by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Through these activities, we aim to instill a deep sense of respect, compassion, and unity.”
The school Principal Dr. Rajni Angrish concluded the occasion with a note of thanks and a pledge by the students to follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and contribute positively to society. This celebration served as a memorable learning experience, promoting values that will continue to inspire our young minds.
