“Celebration of Reading Week’- 17.07.2023”

In order to inculcate reading habits in students, DGSG organized a ‘Celebration of reading week’ as announced by the CBSE. Students were asked to bring a newspaper that they read. The students enthusiastically participated in the activity. Language periods were chosen for the activity. Students also encouraged their peers to read the newspaper daily to get full command of reading and vocabulary. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish said that newspaper reading improves the writing & reading skills of students as many difficult words come while reading a passage that might confuse a reader and further added that newspapers refresh ourselves on different running issues and news the whole way across the world. It was an enlightening activity.

“Shri Sukhmani Sahib Path in the memory of former Director S. Gurbachan Singh Grewal ji”

In the memory of school former Director Sardar Gurbachan Singh Grewal ji, Shri Sukhmani Sahib Path was performed in school. School management, Principal, teachers and students expressed their gratitude to the inspirational leader and the prominent educator. Special assembly was conducted in the school to give tribute to such a wonderful soul. The principal, Mrs. Rajni Angrish dedicated the compendium to the former Director, who, she said, 'shall always be remembered as the fountainhead of all literary activities at school'. She also added that DGSG Public School is growing constantly under the efficient streamlines and blessings of our former Director 'S. Gurbachan Singh Grewal ji' whose entire life has been dedicated to only one single purpose i.e. the upliftment of Education of the society. He was a devoted teacher, a wonderful principal and a great Leader.

“INTER-HOUSE SOLO PERFORMANCE COMPETITION- 06.05.2023”

To hone the dancing skills of the students, an Inter-House Solo performance competition was organised for the students of classes II–VIII on 06.05.2023 with the theme ‘Feet on Fire’. Students participated with great enthusiasm and interest. True to the theme, the vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performances and this was a reflection of their passion and hard work. The choreography, rhythm, synchronization and presentation of all the students were very good. Dressed up in colourful costumes they swayed to the beats of Semi classical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Punjabi and Bollywood numbers. The participants enthralled everyone with their lively performances. They were judged on Expression, Choreography, Presentation and Costumes. Sahibzada Zorawar Singh House was adjudged the first, second place was gained by Sahibzada Fateh Singh House, the third place was bagged by Sahibzada Jujhar Singh House and consolation prize was given to Sahibzada Ajit Singh House. The happiness of the children was amply evident with applause and appreciation. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish congratulated the winners and appreciated the performance of all the children and also encouraged them to participate more in such competitions to enhance their talents.

“100% Result of 10th Board Exams Session 2022-23”

The 10th class students of DGSG Public School once again proved their splendid and admirable performance by scoring 100% result in CBSE Board Exams Session 2022-23. Six students scored perfect 100 in I.T. subject. 18 students bagged above 90%, followed by students passed the exam with excellent marks. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish said that the remarkable result is the collective hard work, consistency and sincerity of the teachers and students. She congratulated them. School’s Director Mr. Danish Grewal ji, President Mam Gurpal Kaur Ji, Manager Mam Harjit Kaur Ji appreciated the efforts of teachers and students behind the same and blessed the students to reach greater heights in the coming future too.

“INVESTITURE CEREMONY”

The Investiture Ceremony at DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL Deserving young talents of DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL were bestowed with the responsibility of leading their schoolmates from the front with their commitment, confidence and competence. The ceremony was held on May 10 th , 2023 in the school premises with great enthusiasm. The Oath taking ceremony marked a solemn occasion where the young students were all prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school. To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of leaders and a sense of responsibility, this year Master Armaan Sharma and Miss Ramandeep Kaur were elected as the head boy and head girl of the school respectively. “Free workshop on Cancer Awareness and Good Dietary Habits”

Free Cancer Awareness Programme was organized by Caring Soul Foundation. Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal, a social worker from Lucknow came for the same. He sensitized teachers and students about oral cancer and related diseases and also emphasized on good dietary habits among the school goers. He awared about useful information based on the guidelines of WHO, UNDP & UNAIDS. He added that healthy eating habits for students are essential to function well. A student who eats well is more likely to perform well in their studies and co- curricular activities, and also feel happier, while a student who does not eat a balanced diet or consumes a lot of junk food is more likely to feel lethargic and less energetic. School Principal Ms. Rajni Angrish said that everyone must follow the guidelines provided. She guided the students to spread this information to parents, relatives and their neighbors as well.

“Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”

Museums are key contributors to the well-being and to the sustainable development of our communities. As trusted institutions and important threads in our shared social fabric, they are uniquely placed to create a cascading effect to foster positive change. There are many ways in which museums can contribute to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals: from supporting climate action and fostering exclusivity, to tackling social isolation and improving mental health. To inculcate the same in the students, DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL organised Essay writing activity as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav collaboration with the Museums Division of Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. Students participated with great enthusiasm. Through smart boards PPT of various famous meseums were shown to the students. The main objective was to raise awareness of the fact that, "Museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among people."

“DGSG Karate Team won 7 Gold, 6 Silver & 5 Bronze at 14th LUDHIANA DISTT. KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2023”

Karate players of DGSG Public School put up an impressive show at 14th LUDHIANA DISTT. KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 which was held at GURUNANAK NATIONAL COLLEGE, DORAHA on 7th May, 2023. It was organized by Ludhiana Distt. Karate Do Association. The Championship was for all categories Sub Junior, Junior, Senior Girls and Boys. DGSG students bagged seven gold medals, six got silver medals and five bronze medals. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish congratulated Karate Coach Mr. Amarjit Singh, Ms. Davinder Kaur and all participants’ parents. She encouraged the students to continue participating in such competitions and bring laurels to School. She also added that games and sports facilitate learning and cognitive development, and also promote well-being and mental health of students

“Freshers’ Party And Graduation Ceremony”

DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL hosted the Graduation Ceremony & Freshers’ Party to welcome and celebrate the progression and development of the students of Grade 1st. A plethora of activities and games were organised, including song and dance performances. The purpose of Fresher’s Party was to welcome new students to DGSG family and to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confidence. Commencing on a devotional note, with the religious hymn “Satnam Waheguru” which created blend of cosmic tune and divine music in the atmosphere. The students danced energetically and amazingly on Punjabi and Bollywood mash up songs. Many Solo performances were performed by the students with full energy and zeal. Rhymes tuned into sounds and students recited them in their melodious voices. This was followed by the distribution of certificates to the tiny tots wearing graduation caps and sashes. The little children were felicitated with the unique epithets describing their strengths. A galaxy of dignitaries graced the occasion as guests of honour- Worthy Director Mr. Daanish Grewal ji, Madam Prabhsimran Kaur ji, President Madam Gurpal Kaur ji and Manager Madam Mrs. Harjit Kaur ji. The most memorable moments of the function were marked by the precious words of advice and appreciation by Director Sir Mr. Daanish Grewal Ji during his address to the parents. President Madam Gurpal Kaur ji encouraged parents to inculcate values and confident in students. Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish acknowledged the efforts of the Students, Teachers, and Supporting Staff and thanked the parents for their precious time and presence. Overall, the celebrations concluded on a happy note encouraging the students to establish further milestones in the journey of success. The event was finally concluded with refreshment.

“EARTH DAY- 22.04.2023”

Earth is the only planet that is considered to be fit for human life and other living beings. To impart the same in the students of DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL, teachers organised Bottle plant Activity for the classes I to X. The main idea behind celebrating Earth Day is to show kindness to earth, and any simple measure that we take towards protecting the earth will have a huge impact on us. Students participated with great enthusiasm and decorated bottles to transplant plants in them.

Teachers showed PowerPoint presentations to remind the students of their duties towards 'Mother Nature' and some significant contributions that they could make to support 'Go Green' drive. They were advised to adopt a tree and to encourage other people about the same. Teachers also awared about the changes that are happening on earth. School Principal addressed the students in the Morning assembly to emphasize the importance of afforestation, planting of trees and the need for everyone to put together their efforts and get into action, in protecting our environment.

“FAREWELL PARTY AT RED MANGO SAHNEWAL”

April 7th, 2023, Friday, Class 9th students hosted a ceremony for class 10th students at Red Mango, Sahnewal to bid lively and Joyful Farewell to their seniors. They made all proper arrangements for the students and the teachers. All the students dressed in their finery. The cultural program was started with the speeches by the students of class 10th. They presented other programs like songs, solo and group dance, mimicry and skits. Many games were conducted and winners were given prizes. Some students from both the classes recited poems befitting the occasion. The students danced to their hearts content to the music. School President Madam Gurpal Kaur Ji expressed her pride in the students and congratulated them on completing the most crucial formative phase of their life and made them to learn values in life. Principal Madam Mrs. Rajni Angrish generously imparted her wisdom to her pupils and guided them towards the right path. Students Tremanjot Kaur and Anurag Panday were honored as Miss Farewell and Mister Farewell tags. Best performer tag was given to Japneet Kaur for energetic Bhangra performance. Many other tags were also announced according to the student's diligent behavior, creativity of mind and participation during the whole year. Lastly Lunch was served to all students. The whole environment was full of energetic cheerfulness.

“Amidst the rich harvest, Across the lush greenery, Baisakhi has arrived, In all its majesty – so let’s rejoice and celebrate.” ”

On 15th April 2023, the students of DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL celebrated the festival of Baisakhi in high spirits. The objective of this activity was to acquaint students about Baisakhi and its significance in our culture and to engage them in the celebration of a harvest festival. Primary students dressed up in gaudy Punjabi attire and celebrated the festival with rhymes and songs on Baisakhi. It was a delight to see the tiny tots engrossed in the activity. In Morning Prayer, a speech was delivered by student who recalled the contribution of the 10th Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh ji who commemorates the formation of the “Khalsa Panth” warriors in 1699. The students narrated important events from his life in assembly. The school staff and students paid tribute and respect to martyrs of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre who sacrificed their lives for the country on this day.

“Havan Ceremony at DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL”

An auspicious Havan Ceremony was conducted in the school on 21.02.2023 to invoke blessings of God for the students appearing for class X CBSE Board Examinations. All the teachers and the administration staff members marked their presence and prayed to seek the showering of grace from the God. Soul striving bhajans were presented by the students. School President Madam Gurpal Kaur ji in her address extended her wishes for all exams and exhorted the students to make their dreams come true. She also motivated the students to have faith in God's plans for them, their own abilities and make the best use of their potentials for welfare of all. Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish wished good health and happiness for all the teachers & Students and shared her hopes for the students and advised them to never get panicked, to believe in God & in themselves and to put 100% efforts for performing their best in examinations.

“Road Safety Week”

In order to decrease road fatalities, both the Central Government and State Governments are working in the area of road safety. The Central Government is aiming to reduce Road Accidents by 50% by the next 10 years. Ministry of Road Transport and Highways organized Road Safety Week from 11th -17th January 2023 in order to create awareness among general public to improve the safety on road and to give an opportunity to all stakeholders to contribute to the cause of road safety.
In this regard, teachers delivered a lecture on Road Safety & Rules and told students that prevention of road accidents by using all the road safety measures is important. It is to secure people while traveling on the roads. Practicing road safety measures is very good habit and safe to all people all through the life. All students pledged that they will follow traffic rules while driving or walking on the road and take care of their safet

“Speech Competition on Child Protection at DGSG- 10.12.2022”

Both girls and boys in India face early marriage, domestic abuse, sexual violence, violence at home and in school, trafficking, online violence, child labour and bullying. All forms of violence, abuse and exploitation have lifelong consequences on children’s lives.  To aware the primary classes’ students of DGSG Public School for the same, Child Protection Officer Mr. Mubeen Qurieshy visited the school on 10.12.2022 (Saturday) and organized “Speech Competition” on various topics like- Good Touch Bad Touch, Child Labour, Child Safety in our surrounding, Awareness on Pocso Act and Child safety from Cyber Crime. Students awarded with 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize and Consolation prizes. The main objective was to generate awareness about Violence that takes place in all settings: at home, school, childcare institutions, work and in the community. Mr. Mubeen Qurieshy told that often violence is perpetrated by someone known to the child. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish thanked the team and said that we all need to come together to end violence against children.

“Homage to the sacrifices of Chaar Sahibzaade- 24.12.2022”

The martyrdom of the four "Sahibzaade" is an important and integral part of the Sikh history. Their martyrdom is remembered, and commemorated both with great vigour and very acute sadness, every year in the month of December. The incidents that took place between the 21st and 28th of December 1704 AD. These are the days that hold very dear memories for all people of Punjab. A special assembly and religious programme dedicated to Chaar Sahibzaade were conducted for the students to pay homage to the great valour and supreme sacrifice of them. The students of class I and II were shown the animated movie of "Chaar Sahibzaade" in which they were acknowledged about the lives and significance of the Sahibzaade sacrifice for the religion. The students of class III and V were engaged in Thank You Cards activity to express their gratitude towards them. Students of class IV recited poem and religious hymns dedicated to Chaar sahibzaade. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish awared the students about the historical importance of Sahibzaade and enabled the students to acquire the qualities of sacrifice, courage, steadfastness, confidence, mindfulness as exhibited by sahibzaade.

“Special Assembly on India’s G20 Presidency- 24.12.2022”

India has resumed the Presidency of the G20 on December 1st, 2022 for one-year term. In this regard, the Logo and Theme for India’s Presidency of G20 were launched by the Prime Minister on November 1st, 2022.
To mark occasion of India taking over as G20 Presidency for the first time, a special assembly was conducted for the students so that they can be informed about G20 and India’s Presidency of this multilateral forum through the Pamphlet issued by G20 Secretariat. The main aim of this initiative was to disseminate the information as widely as possible especially to the younger audiences.

“Bal Sabha Activity on Human Rights Day- 17.12.2022”

Human Rights day is celebrated on every 10th December to create awareness and mobilize political will to promote respect for the rights and freedoms enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. The theme of Human Rights Day is Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All. To impart the same to the students, DGSG organised Bal Sabha Activity for the students of class V. They delivered speeches on Human rights and came in colorful attire.

“Bal Sabha activity on My Happy Family- 10.12.2022”

Bal Sabha Activities provide an opportunity for children to engage in a healthy environment with their peers. These activities are supplementary to Classroom Education. They are not directly linked to the course Curriculum but they form an important part of it by allowing students to engage in the learning experiences. The current education system in India is focusing on incorporating co-curricular activities in schools. They play an essential role in a student’s life by enhancing the learning process at school. DGSG Public School organised Weekly Bal Sabha activity for the students of class I and students participated in ‘My Happy Family Activity’ and spoke on their family. Students brought Family Tree craft decorated with family member’s photographs. Students came in colourful attire according to the activity. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish said that A family is one of the greatest gift god has given to all living creatures on the earth including humans and it is a privilege to have a happy family.

“Bal Sabha Activity (Poem Recitation)- 03.12.2022”

Poem recitation is a literary work where ideas and feelings, accentuated with the use of distinctive style and rhythm is delivered through a public speaking activity with a focus on alliteration some repetitions. Poetry as an art breaks across grammar and syntax to create something new and imaginative for the children. It provides an adventure for the mind.
To inculcate the same in the students, DGSG Public School organised Poem Recitation Activity for the class II. All students participated in this activity and recited poems in English, Hindi and Punjabi Language. All the students came in colorful attire according to their prepared poem.

“DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL celebrated the constitution day with great enthusiasm”

November 26 is celebrated as Constitution Day to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. As a part of the celebrations, “Reading of Preamble to the Constitution” activity was organised at DGSG Public School. The activity was aimed at highlighting and reiterating the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution.
All Students participated in the activity with full zeal & zest. It inculcated the constitutional values and fundamental principles of the Indian Constitution.
School Principal Ms. Rajni Angrish explained the features of the Preamble to the students that the Constitution declares the nation’s commitment to secure justice, liberty and equality.

“Sehaj Path dedicated to Shaheedi Purab of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur ji”

Sehaj Path dedicated to Shaheedi Purab of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur ji was organized in DGSG Public School, Ludhiana on 01.12.2022. The campus was decorated with flowers. Sehaj path filled the environment with divinity. On this occasion, Kirtan was performed by the students that created serene and calm atmosphere. The students also chanted soothing religious hymns from the Holy Guru Granth Sahib. The shabad kirtan erosed a sense of peace and tranquility by their gurbani recital. They paid tribute to Shri Guru Teg Bahadur ji by spreading his divine message of harmony, humility and equality through poems, speeches and orations. School President Mam Gurpal Kaur ji proclaimed that the essence of religion is engaging man to constantly remember the divine at all times and at all places. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish disseminated information about the life and teachings of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur ji. The event was concluded with the "Ardaas" to plea Guru Teg Bahadur ji to bless all the students and Faculty members with good health and prosperity. Ardas sparked a religious fervour in air. The “Karah Prasad” was distributed to all the students and teachers after the Ardaas. Langar was served to all. It was a great enriching experience for all.

Child Protection Awareness Camp at DGSG for protecting them from violence”

India has a fairly comprehensive policy and legal framework addressing rights and protection for children, providing opportunities to ensure that all children have equal access to quality protection services. Violence against children is widespread and remains a harsh reality for millions of children from all socio-economic groups in India. To aware the primary classes’ students of DGSG Public School for the same, Child Protection Officer Mr. Mubeen Qurieshy and Ms. Ritu Sood visited the school and generated awareness about Violence that takes place in all settings: at home, school, childcare institutions, work and in the community. “Class IX student Gurmat Singh got Gold medal”

Class IX student Gurmat Singh got Gold medal in 37th Youth State Basketball Championship held at Guru Nanak Stadium. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish said words of praise for Gurmat Singh & Coach and encourages Gurmat Singh to reach the pinnacle of life. She said sports develop a child’s self-confidence and self-esteem.

“Silver zone Olympiads of English, Science and Mathematics”

SOF- the world’s biggest Olympiads 2022-23 was held at DGSG Public School of subjects English, Science and mathematics for classes VI to X on November 15th, 17th and 22nd respectively. Millions of students from 68,000, schools in 1400 cities and 48 counties compete in this 7th SOF Olympiads. The test is based on curriculum put out by CBSE, ICSE/ ISC and State Education Boards.

“CHACHA NEHRU KE LAL- WEEKLY BAL SABHA-12.11.2022”

Children's Day reminds us the birth of Pt. Nehru, country's first Prime Minister.
This day is celebrated in various ways in educational institutions of the country. In this way, children pay homage to their Chacha. DGSG Public School also celebrated Children's Day with full enthusiasm. The students from class IIII participated in the weekly Bal Sabha Activity- Chacha Nehru ke Lal. Students sang songs, delivered dialogues & short speech and performed patriotic dances. They came in colourful attire according to their prepared act.
School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish threw light on the life of our first Prime Minister and told the students about Pt. Nehru and his love for the children.

“YOGA DAY IN SCHOOL - 11.11.2022”

Yoga is a practice which plays an important role in relaxing the mind and body and boosting immune system.
To celebrate the physical and spiritual power that yoga has brought to the world, Red Swastik Society collaborating with Punjab Police visited DGSG Public School on 11.11.2022. The event began with a brief introduction on Yoga Day by Dr. Shiv Kumar. Warm up exercises were taken and all the students practiced & performed sitting and standing asanas, importance of these were explained simultaneously. The celebration concluded with the speech of School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish. She encouraged students to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration

“Inter House Competition on Children's Day- 14.11.2022”

DGSG Public School organised ‘Inter House Children Day Competition’ on Nov 14th, 2022. Students participated in various Competitions i.e. Card Making, Poster Making and Slogan Writing. Position holders were awarded e- certificates.

“Basketball team rocked again in Basketball Tournament”

DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL Basketball team rocked again and won the gold medal for Under 14 and under 17 boys in Sahodya Basketball Championship held at Unirise School, Jagraon.
The credit goes to the Basketball Coach Mr. Charanjit Singh and his Team.

“Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”

The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed on 31st October every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. To mark the occasion in a befitting manner with great enthusiasm, 'Unity Run' was organized by DGSG Public School for the students. All students participated with zest and zeal. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish also taught teachers and students about the great role Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel played in National Integration.

“Project Veer Gatha Edition 2”

Gallantry Awards have been instituted by the Government of India to honor the acts of bravery and sacrifices of the officers / personnel of the Armed Forces, other lawfully- constituted Forces and Civilians.
In order to disseminate the details of acts of bravery and the life stories of these brave- hearts among the students, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) organized various activities like Poem, Paragraph, Story , Painting, Drawing and Videos for the students of Class III to X, students took part in these projects and activities with full zeal and zest.

“Cyber Security Awareness- 05.11.2022"”

Cyber Security Awareness is an initiative by Govt. of India with an objective of creating mass cyber security awareness among schools, colleges and educational institutions through appropriate training and campaign mechanism. Teachers and students were being made aware of the dangers related to cyberspace and safety. The security tips were given to them to promote a healthy cyberspace.
Mr. Jasvir Singh from Punjab Police visited DGSG Public School for the same and generates awareness about cyber safety for the students.

“WEEKLY BAL SABHA-05.11.2022”

Guru Nanak Jayanti is celebrated to mark the birth of Guru Nanak Sahib & is celebrated with great zeal in India.
Our little munchkins celebrated the 553rd birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 05.11.2022 with great excitement and fervour in Saturday’s Bal Sabha.
The teachers highlighted the teachings of the Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Teachers pointed towards an honest and simple life filled with universal brotherhood. Students of Class V recited religious hymns, poems,
narrated stories and sakhis and came in religious attire for the celebration.

“Gurupurab”

"One God who dwells in every one of God's creations and constitutes the eternal Truth." - Shri Guru Nanak Dev Jibr Gurupurab in Sikh tradition is a celebration of an anniversary related to the lives of the Sikh gurus. All Gurpurabs are celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm by the people throughout the world. The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji is also celebrated with great honour, pride and respect by the people.
DGSG Public School celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti with great gaiety and excitement. All students came in white attire to celebrate this joyous festival. The celebration commenced with path of "Sukhmani Sahib". It was performed by the students with great energy which filled the environment with divinity. shabad kirtan 'Sat Guru Nanak Pargatiya' was sung by the students, that created serene and calm atmosphere. The students also chanted soothing religious hymns from the Holy Guru Granth Sahib. The students spoke on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, making others to know about the life history of Guru Nanak Dev ji. The celebration was concluded with the "Ardaas" to plea Guru Nanak Dev ji to bless all the students and Faculty members with good health and prosperity. ‘Ardas’ sparked a religious fervour in air. The “Karah Prasad” was distributed to all the students and teachers after the Ardaas.
Speaking on the occasion, School President Madam Gurpal Kaur ji while wishing the students and teachers 'Happy Gurpurab' proclaimed that the essence of religion is engaging man to constantly remember the divine at all times and at all places.
School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish gave the message of universal brotherhood and explained that the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev are of great significance to mankind and she also guided the students to follow the path and principles of Guru Nanak Dev.

The two-day FAP National Awards 2022 distribution ceremony came to a close on Sunday at the Chandigarh University, Gharuan, campus.
Union Minister of state for commerce and industry Som Prakash presided over the closing ceremony of the Awards, constituted by Federation of Private Schools and Associations of Punjab. DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL got best school award in academic category for the result of session 2021-22, where the school got 99.2%. The school was awarded with Trophy and Certificate of Excellence

The Annual Day meticulously planned by the students and staff of the school to showcase the Annual activities to the parents and guests followed by the ceremonial function. DGSG Public School students celebrated the 115th birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam with great zeal and enthusiasm who sacrificed his life for the freedom of India. On this special occasion, various activities were organized like painting, reciting poems, singing patriotic songs, writing slogan and essay. During Morning Assembly, students were taught about great revolutionary who fought with the Britishers with bravery and sacrificed his life at a tender age. Dainik Bhaskar in collaboration with Crax Team visited DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL on 29.10.2022. They conducted some fun filled activities in the school for the encouragement of students to learn and grow with full zeal and zest. The Team also organised games for the entertainment of students. “Basketball team of DGSG School won gold medal by performing brilliantly in 'Khedo Punjab District Championship'. The competition took place among U14 boys. On this joyous occasion, the Director of the school, Mr. Daanish Grewal ji and President Mrs. Gurpal Kaur Grewal ji blessed the students who returned after winning. School Manager Mrs. Harjit Kaur also admired the students for their excellent performance. “Hindi Diwas recognises significance of the Hindi language and inspires younger generations to use it more frequently. The first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru decided to celebrate Hindi Diwas on September 14 to honour and give respect to Hindi language. Many other cultural festivals are also observed during the day across the country to celebrate Hindi Literature.
To impart the same feeling in the students, DGSG Public School organised Hindi Letter Pot and Hindi Swar Flower making Activity for the students of Class I to V. Teachers encouraged the students to speak Hindi and make its maximum use as no nation can progress without its National Language.”

“Swachh Sagar Surakshit Sagar Campaign”

“India is proud to have a vast coastline of more than 7,500 kilometres. However, litter especially in the form of plastics in the marine environment are a major concern and growing international problem. A number of studies have shown their harmful impact on marine biodiversity, ecosystems, fisheries, human health and economy.
To teach the same to the students, DGSG Public School organised Painting & Sketching and Essay Writing Activity for Class V. Students drew beautiful sketches of Oceans and wrote essay on the importance of marine life and oceanic water to human life.

“Tree Planting”

“Tree planting is recognised as one of the most engaging, environmentally-friendly activities that people can participate in to help the planet when done properly. Trees provide numerous long-term and short-term benefits. They reduce the risk of flooding, improve air quality, and reduce the urban heat island effect by reflecting sunlight and providing shade.
Despite their rich values and importance, trees are still not properly cared for. They are cut down, eradicating all forms of life in the surrounding area. However, the relevance and importance of planting trees have only grown with each passing day. More trees must be planted as a collective effort by all of humanity to save our ailing planet. To follow the same Teachers, Parents and Students of DGSG Public School participated in Mission Haryali-2022 to plant saplings in their houses or nearby areas. A link was provided for uploading photographs. Certificates were also issued to the participants.

“Teachers’ Day Celebration”

Teachers’ Day is a special day for the appreciation of teachers and may include celebrations to honour them for their special contributions in a education field and the community in general. In India Teachers’ is celebrated on September 5th every year. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishan suggested that instead of celebrating his birthday, the students should observe September 5 as Teachers’ Day. Since then teacher’s Day celebrations are held all across India on the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishan. To celebrate the same, some senior students were selected by the teachers, to become teachers for the rest of the students. Movie was also shown to teachers. Refreshments were served to them. There was aroma of celebration and fun in the air.

The first week of September is celebrated as National Nutrition Week. The purpose of this week is to raise awareness about the value of healthy eating practices and proper nutrition for upholding a healthy lifestyle.
To inculcate the healthy eating habits in the students, DGSG Public School organised weekly activity on the same. Students of Class I to III and IV, V participated in ‘Healthy Chana Chaat’ and ‘Poster Making on balanced Diet’ respectively. Videos related to nutritional Plan diet were also shown to them in order to teach them about the importance of well-balanced and nutritious food. Students understood that the nutrition is at the centre of daily life.

“PURE TALENT INBUILT - DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL BASKETBALL TEAM”

DGSG basketball Team added laurels to the DGSG Public School fame by winning Gold Medal in Inter Zonal Championship, under-17 boys and ' Silver Medal' in under 14 boys. School worthy Director Mr. Daanish Grewal ji adored the Basketball Coach Mr. Charanjit Singh and his team for the splendid performance. To impart the same to the students, teachers taught them about the vital role that water plays in world economy. Approximately 70% of the freshwater used by humans goes to agriculture. Fishing is a major source of food for many parts of the world. Much of the long-distance trade of commodities is transported by boats through various bodies of water. Large quantities of water, ice, and steam are used for cooling and heating, in industry and homes.

“DGSG Public School’s Basket Ball team got winning streak”

DGSG Public School’s basketball U-14 & U-19 boys team shined again with Gold medals in 1st invitational 3X3 Basketball tournament organized by ACE Sports Academy in Ludhiana. Our students – Kiratpreet Singh, Gurmat Singh, Jatin Arora and Harmanpreet Singh from Class X & Gagandeep Singh, Prabhjot Singh and Prabhjot Singh from Class VIII gave their best performance in the match. School worthy Director Mr. Daanish Grewal ji, President Mam Gurpal Kaur ji appreciated the Basketball Coach Mr. Charanjit Singh & his team and blessed them to win again in the coming tournaments. “Janamashtami Celebration- 18.08.2022”

As Janamashtami is celebrated with enormous zeal and enthusiasm throughout the country. On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, DGSG Public School organised Feather Craft Activity for the fun-filled learning of Indian traditions and to infuse within students the respect for their culture. Students of Class I – III came in beautiful Krishna and Gopi’s attire. The students were also told about Krishna’s life and his thoughts about humanity and karma.

TEEYAN DA MELA- PRIMARY WING 16.08.2022

Teej, which falls in the most propitious month of Sawan, is primarily a festival celebrated by girls and women with songs and dances mainly in the northern and western parts of India.
Tiny tots of DGSG Public School participated whole-heartedly in the fun-filled function. All students were well dressed up in colorful traditional Punjabi attire. The function started with Shabad to seek the blessings of Almighty. Students performed Giddha, Bhangra, mash up dance and solo performances. Various songs and poems on ‘Sawan’ were presented by students. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish appreciated the performances that filled the environment with festivity.

“Independence Day Activities- 13.8.2022”

Independence Day, in India, national holiday celebrated annually on August 15. Independence Day marks the end of British rule in 1947 and the establishment of a free and independent Indian nation. It also marks the anniversary of the partition of the subcontinent into two countries, India and Pakistan, which occurred at midnight on August 14–15, 1947.
Various activities like singing Patriotic Songs, reciting Patriotic poems, Poster Making & flag making, hoisting National Flag in Morning assembly, sending selfies with Tiranga & videos of hoisting Flag from home were organised on 13.08.2022 for the students of Class I - X which helped them to understand the importance of it in a better way. Students of Class I – III came in tri- colour attire to celebrate the same.

“TEEJ CELEBRATION- 12.08.2022”

DGSG Public School celebrated Teej in school campus with all enthusiasm. Teeyan is about happiness, prosperity and well-being. It is the festival for Indian women where newly married and young unmarried women gather together to celebrate the beginning of rainy season. School’s President mam Gurpal Kaur Grewal ji, Madam Prabhsimran Kaur ji and Manager mam Harjit Kaur ji graced the occasion with their presence. All students were well dressed up in colorful traditional Punjabi attire and presented cultural program. They performed Giddha, Bhangra, mash up dance, solo performances, singing of songs, tappe etc. The School was decorated according to the festival. President Mam appreciated the flawless performances of participants and efforts of teachers. One of the most loved festivals in India. Raksha Bandhan is celebrated with much zeal and enthusiasm. The festival symbolises the love between siblings, this day celebrates the purity and sanctity of the bond that exists between siblings
On this day, sisters tie rakhi on their brothers wrists, wishing for long and prosperous life. Raksha means safety and Bandhan means bond. To impart about the traditional and cultural significance of Raksha Bandhan in students, DGSG Public School organised Rakhi making activity for the students. All the students participated with huge joy and merriment.

“Quit India Movement- 08.08.2022’”

The Quit India Movement, also known as the August Movement, was a movement launched at Bombay session of the All India Congress Committee by Mahatma Gandhi on 8th August 1942, during World War II, demanding an end to British rule in India.
To acknowledge the students about the same, Ms. Karamjit Kaur delivered 2 minutes speech on “Causes of Quit India Movement – Why was it launched?” in morning Assembly on 08.08.2022.

“Matka Decoration Activity- 06.08.2022”

School activities are vital in fostering artistic creativity of students. Students are usually engaged in various co-curricular activities to utilize their energy completely and explore their talents. To enhance the same, DGSG Public School organised Matka Decoration Activity for Classes VI- IX in school on 06.08.2022 in the festive season. All Students participated with keen interest. They decorated the pots with glitters, mirrors, stars, clay, garlands, acrylic colours etc.

“Covid-19 vaccination Camp on 05.08.2022”

DGSG Public School organised Covid-19 vaccination camp in the school premises. It was conducted by Urban Committee Health Centre. It was meant for school students aged from 12 to 18 years. The vaccination camp was an initiative to create awareness among students and their parents for the need of vaccination as prevention against COVID-19 infection. The vaccination camp was organized so that the maximum number of students could take the anti-COVID jabs as shields against coronavirus infection. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish expressed gratitude to the school administration and Urban Committee Health Centre for conducting the vaccination camp at the school.

“DGSG Public School’s Basket Ball team again brought laurels to the school ”

DGSG Public School’s basketball U-17 team shined with Gold medal in Youth Basketball tournament held at Guru Nanak Stadium Ludhiana. The 12 players’ team defeated 36 basketball teams from Ludhiana and bagged the winner title. Class IX student Armaan Sharma made the school proud with his flawless performance. Ashish Arun Gill, former National basketball player distributed the prizes among the teams. School worthy Director Mr. Daanish Grewal ji, President Mam Gurpal Kaur ji gave their precious blessings to the team and coach. School Manager Mam Harjit Kaur ji said that with great coaching, the participation of our students has also increased year by year. “DGSG Karate Team won Gold medal at OPEN PUNJAB STATE KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2022”

Karate players of DGSG Public School put up an impressive show at OPEN PUNJAB STATE KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2022 which was held at GEMS PUBLIC SCHOOL, Patiala from July 30th to July 31st, 2022. It was organized by District Karate Association Patiala. The Championship was for all categories Sub Junior, Junior, Senior Girls and Boys. Class IX student Miss Jaspreet Kaur bagged a gold medal, five students got silver medals and seven students got bronze medal. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish congratulated DPI Mr. Amarjit Singh and all participants’ parents. She encouraged the students to continue participating in such competitions and bring laurels to School. She also added that Games and sports facilitate learning and cognitive development, and also promote well-being and mental health of students.

Co-curricular activities are supplementary to Classroom Education. They are not directly linked to the course Curriculum but they form an important part of it by allowing students to engage in the learning experiences. The current education system in India is focusing on incorporating co-curricular activities in schools. They play an essential role in a student’s life by enhancing the learning process at school and make it more engaging and fun. To inculcate creativity in the students the school organised Bangle Hanging Activity for the class (VI – IX). All the student participated with huge interest.

“Discovery School super League Season 5 – BYJU’S”

BYJU’S, Indian Multinational Educational Technology team visited DGSG Public School on July 26th for Discovery School Super League Season 5. All the students participated in the quiz and got Certificate of Participation. Discovery School Super League is a critical thinking, aptitude and general knowledge quiz which provides a unique platform for students to compete at National level and win laurels for themselves and their school.

“LANGUAGE FEST- LUDHIANA SAHODAYA SCHOOLS COMPLEX (WEST)”

Language Fest was conducted by Ludhiana Sahodya Schools Complex (West) on 23 July 2022 (Saturday) at New GMT Public School, Bhatha Dhua, Ludhiana. DGSG Public School students participated in the Fest. Miss Tremanjot Kaur of class X participated in ENGLISH (ORATORY SPEECH), Miss Harleen Kaur of Class VIII in HINDI (POEM RECITATION) and Chetveer Singh of Class IV participated in PUNJABI (CALLIGRAPHY). All got Participation certificates. School Principal Ms. Rajni Angrish was also invited as an observer in the fest and was honoured with the token of gratitude by the Ludhiana Sahodya Schools Complex (West).

“100% result in CBSE 10th Board Exams Session 2021-22”

The 10th class students of DGSG Public School once again proved their splendid and admirable performance by scoring 100% result in CBSE Board Exams Session 2021-22. Many students scored perfect 100 in various subjects. Miss Karmandeep Kaur, Miss Jessica Kaur and Miss Riya Sharma stood first, second and third with score of 99.2%, 98.6% and 96.2% respectively, followed by students passed the exam with excellent marks. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish said that the remarkable result is the collective hard work, consistency and sincerity of the teachers and students, and congratulated them. Story telling is one of the most promising and engaging way to teach language to students. It helps them to dream and to make realistic goals in their young ages..
English Story Telling Activity was organized for students of class IV – VI so that they can learn to build dreams and aspire towards them. In addition to this, they can become more solution-oriented, positive and motivated from an early age.

“Word Search Weekly Activity 16.07.2022”

Word Search' is a very useful tool when it comes for learning new languages. That's why it is a recurrent strategy employed in educational syllabi.
Word Search Activity was organized today by teachers in their classes to expose students to new vocabulary and also to their spelling bank. Thus, it helps to increase the language’s oral and written fluency at the same time. Additionally, students also used this activity as a study aid to review and refresh their knowledge.

“National Paper Bag Day 12.07.2022”

To spread awareness about using paper bags instead of plastic, teachers alert the students through Lecture method and by showing videos regarding the pollution caused due to plastic and the serious threat that it poses to the natural environment. Plastic waste takes thousands of years to decompose. Students were instructed to use Paper bags as they are made up of renewable resources and so are easily recyclable. Students promised that they will use paper bags and also guide their near and dear ones for the same.

“Weekly Activity”

School activities play a significant role in the development of students. In DGSG Public School, these activities are mandatory for every student to participate. Co-curricular activities are structured and balanced with the scholastic educational curriculum so that every student get the opportunity to learn beyond studies. To inculcate creativity in them the school organised various activities like Ice cream Craft Activity for Class I – III, Butterfly Activity for Class IV – VI and Fun with Bottle Caps Activity for class VII and VIII.

“World Population Day 2022”

It is observed on 11th July every year to raise awareness about the impact of growing population and issues including gender equality, poverty, health, human rights, etc. To impart the same in the students 'Poster Making Activity' was organised on July 8th, 2022 for the students of classes VI, VII & VIII.

“Guru Purnima 13.07.2022”

Guru Purnima is celebrated on 13 July, where children and adult opt for different ways to show their gratitude, love and respect towards their gurus. Guru Purnima is a tradition dedicated to all the spiritual and academic Gurus, who are evolved or enlightened humans through their wisdom. Gurus are said to play a significant role in the life of people, as they offer a major contribution towards developing and nurturing children. To impart the same in students, the teachers aware them about the importance of a teacher which is next to God, who guides in life directing to the right path for the betterment.

WORLD FIRST AID DAY 14-09-2021

World First-Aid day celebrated in our school on 11, September 2021. Its main aim is to raise awareness how first-aid can prevent injuries and save lives. School has organised activities for students Grade I to III students participated in colouring pages competition (First-Aid) students of grade IV to V participated in First- Aid craft Competition. It created awareness among the students. Certificates were provided to the winners. Grade I ‘B’ SukhmanKaur, Grade II ‘B’ RavneetKaur, Grade III ArshpreetKaur, Grade IV RinkalVerma, Grade V ‘A’ SimranjeetSingh.

HINDI DIWAS COMPETITION 16-09-2021

HINDI DIWAS was celebrated on 14, September 2021 at DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL. A series of events were held to celebrated the day. To commemorate this occasion, many activities and competition was held. Participates from Grade Ist participated in Swar writing competition. Students of Grade II participated in Matras competition and wrote two words for each, Grade III participated in poster making, Grade IV participated in slogan writing, Grade IV to VIII students participated in recitation of Kabir Das KeDohe, Rahim and Tulsi Das KeDohay. Certificates were given to winners. Grade I ‘A’ Jasmeet Singh, Grade II JagjotKaur, Grade III ‘B’ Harnoor Singh, Grade IV ‘A’ KrishBawa, Grade V ‘B’ Amandeep Singh, Grade VI ‘A’ SimranGoyal, Grade VIII ‘A’ Saavi, VIII ‘B’ Snehpreet Kaur.

WORLD OZONE DAY 18-09-2021

DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL celebrated the World Ozone Day to spread awareness among the students about how crucial the ozone shield is for the life on Earth, the need to search for possible solutions to preserve it. For students of Grade VI to VIII participated in Carton Designing on ‘Ozone and Elimate and there was certificate for winners. Grade VI ‘A’ SimranGoyal, Grade VII ‘A’ Shagun Sharma, Grade VII ‘B’ Parwinder Singh, Grade VIII ‘SukhmanjeetKaur’ Grade VIII ‘B’ SnehpreetKaur.

WEEKLY ACTIVITY 18-09-2021

DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL had organised weekly activity for grade 6th to 8th. Students made bookmarks. Students participated whole heartedly in making bookmarks. They made very beautiful and creative bookmarks.

INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY 21-09-2021

International Peace Day celebrated in our school. On the day of celebration, special assembly was organised. Students sang two songs related to the heroes who served the country. DP teacher told the students about International Peace Day. Teacher of Punjabi Ms. Mandeep Kaur gave a speech. One student from Grade VII ‘A’ Chanpreet Singh participated in assembly. School staff , students together paid the tribute by keeping silence of 2 minutes to those who gave their lives to serve the country

RASHTRIYA POSHAN MAAH 25-09-2021

The school has conducted Rashtriya Poshan Maah. Students from Grade I to VIII offered nutritious meal to children from the underprivileged sections of society. Students clicked the photographs while offering the food. It aims to implement a comprehensive, integrated strategy to strengthen nutritional content, wellness and immunity to disease and malnutrition in the country.

GANDHI JAYANTI 01-10-2021

Gandhi Jayanti, celebrated by students and teachers at DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL. Students of the school were given an activity to pay reverence to him. Students of Grade I to V participated in making art and craft of spinning wheel using popsticks and three monkeys of Gandhi ji. They made very beautiful spinning wheels. Grade VI to VIII students participated in art and craft on life of Mahatma Gandhi. They made many things related to the life of Mahatma Gandhi beautifully.

DUSSEHRA 14-10-2021

Dussehra was celebrated by students and teachers at DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL. Students of the school were given a craft activity related to Dussehra. They made very innovative effigy of Raavan, Rama, Sita and Lakshman. Winners were given certificates.

BUDDY PROGRAMME

On 30th October,2020 , a buddy programme had been organized in our school as per guidelines/ recommendations of the government under DAPO system. In this programme, the students of grade IX and X participated which was held under the supervision of NODAL Officer and a senior buddy. Primarily , this was begun with the introduction of DAPO system and a buddy programme by eminent NODAL Officer . Moving further, various competitions such as Slogan writing and essay writing on Drug Addiction were held. Besides this, some students delivered speeches on Drug Addiction to tell its detrimental effects as well as they also discussed how to save our posterity from this deadly evil. Undoubtedly, this programme was a great success as it left a sublime effect on the student’s minds who pledged to keep themselves away from the drug addiction

Rakhi Making and Celebration Competition

Due to COVID-19, DGSG Public School hosted online Rakhi making and Celebration Competition for the school students. Students participated whole heartedly and showed their talent by preparing attractive and beautiful Rakhi’s. The motive behind this celebration was to teach the students about the great bonding of love and care between brother and sister. As schools are closed at the time ,but still students enjoyed a lot on this occasion. Also Principal Sanjana Narang appreciated the efforts by the students. Students will get the Award of honour on the celebration of Children’s Day.

Report on Women’s Day Celebration

“A charming woman does not follow the crowd. She is herself”.
This is what the DGSG Public School expressed lovingly to their teachers as Women’s Day was celebrated with great “pump and show.” Many activities were also organized for their amusement and entertainment. The Principal Mrs. Santosh Narang appreciated the teachers for their efforts and abilities. She inspired them by giving the lecture on “Role of women in society and in entire fields.” It was an important occasion for the school to acknowledge on the reflection on ourselves and what more needs to be done in the fields of gender equality.

Parenting Awareness Session (2020-21)

DGSG Public School organised Awarness session 2020-21 for parents. DGSG aims to create awareness among the parents about the process of child rearing and problems related to the students life. President S. Gurbachan Singh Grewal acknowledged the parents about the different levels of student’s intelligence. Manager Mrs. Harjit Kaur and the principal of Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary school discussed the bad and good impact of technology on students. Mrs. Harpreet Kaur, Head Mistress of Primary Section (DGSG) accounts the behaviour of parents towards their children. Principal Mrs. Sanjana Narang laid emphasis on role of parents in the upbringing of their ward and she familliared parents with necessary information and instructions, she also thanked the parents who become a part of this session from their busy schedule. Almost parent attended parenting Awareness session.

Basant Panchmi Celebration

DGSG Public School celebrated the festival of “Basant Panchmi” on 29th jan,2020.The little kids of school were beautifully dressed in yellow. Students also made kites of different colours. Special assembly on ‘Basant Pachmi’ was organized in the school. Students also brought yellow sweet dishes in their lunch. All the students got collected in the school ground and celebrated this festival. Principal and teachers also joined students to share their happiness and joy. Overall it was a fantastic day for students. Students were also told about the importance of this festival , that this festival is the beginning of spring season and harvesting season of country.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas is the season of joy and gift giving. The Christmas celebrations took place in the DGSG Campus on 24th December, 2019. The school was beautifully decorated. Students were dressed up as Santa Claus. They sang melodious carols and wish their teachers and classmates. The importance of the festival was explained to the students by the teachers. The enjoyment and delightness was visible on the faces of the students.

School Exhibition

An exhibition was held in DGSG Public School, wherein the students showcased the static and working models which can be used for learning various Punjabi culture, scientific and environmental concepts. The objective was to inculcate in them the technical attitude and research mindedness. The students explained the various models efficiently to the parents. The President of the school ‘S. Gurbachan Singh Grewal’ was also present to boost up the confidence of the students and appreciated them for their efforts.

Patience is Sincerity

In the long journey of life both prosperity and adversities go side by side. Adversities checks many trait of a person specially our patience. In time of adversities, we feel impatience. We are unable to understand what to do. Sometimes, we take many steps without thinking anything about that we later on face many problems just because of that particular decision .So, it is wise to have patience during adversities time. Patience is necessary aspect of a gentleman. Using this trait, one can face problems of all kind. Patience makes us perfect in our decision making .It is true “Hasty decisions are always wrong”. So have some patience in any situation of life. Parents should also inculcate this value in their wards.

Intelligence and Confidence is the Ultimate Swagger

Intelligence and confidence are necessary ingredients to make the personality of a person a perfect one. These both inflicts of personality are directly interlinked to each other. Intelligence always brings confidence. If you are intelligent enough, your confidence will be sky high. Confidence enables us to address the audience with our thoughts. A person equipped with intelligence and confidence can achieve desired goals and targets. So, it is mandatory to have these two valuable instincts. A person having these two, shines like a pole star. He gets appreciation everywhere. His desires and wishes come true very easily. So, students try to keep intelligence and confidence as the permanent instinct in their personality.

FIT INDIA MOVEMENT

We celebrated fit India week in DGSG Public school. Its main aim was to aware the students about how to be healthy and fit in their lives by doing different physical activities. Students participated in Yoga, PT, dance, sports and many more activities. They learn how they can live their lives in healthy way. Students as well as teachers participated in some activities .This movement was organized to motivate and aware the students to be fit.

HINDI OLYMPIAD

Hindi Olympiad organized by Hindi vikas Manch on 14th Aug ,2019 and students of DGSG Public School had participated in this Olympiad.14 students were participated and we got three gold Medal and 1 Silver medal. This is the achievement of our students who make our school more proud.

Celebration of Yoga Day in DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL

To impart yoga education benefits in students, DGSG PUBLIC SCHOOL organised yoga activity on June 21st, 2022. As Yoga is an ancient ascetic practice originated in India that combines physical, mental and spiritual pursuits to achieve harmony of the body and mind. School DPI Mr. Charanjit Singh and Ms. Sehajpreet Kaur inculcated in them the importance of yoga in students' life through various Yoga asanas. The students followed the instructions and performed the asanas under his surveillance.
Students of class VII A named- PRABHDEEP KAUR, NAVDEEP KAUR & SIMRAN GOYAL prepared a working model on Rainwater harvesting. Through the working model they explained the process of collecting rainwater from surfaces on which rain falls, filtering it and storing it for multiple uses. Rainwater harvesting puts the supply of water back to normal levels. It is the collection and storage of water from surfaces where rain has fallen upon.

“Basketball Team of DGSG School won silver medal"

Basketball students grabbed 2nd position by performing in Basketball Tournament organized by ABC Academy Haibowal Kalan, Ludhiana. The competition took place among U17 boys. School Director Mr. Daanish Grewal ji and President Madam Gurpal Kaur Grewal ji blessed the students and Basketball Coach for his esteemed coaching that embibes the qualities of concentration and devotion towards the game. School Manager Mrs. Harjit Kaur also admired the students for their performance. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish congratulated the students and team coach Mr. Rohit Chauhan for his splendid leadership and hard work, due to which the students could bring laurels to the school. She also encouraged other students to participate in all kinds of sports competitions for their physical and mental development.

Summer camp brings out children’s talents

DGSG Public School, Shimlapuri, Ludhiana, organised summer camp for students of classes I to IX. They were enrolled in different activities. The school offered plethora of activities, including dance, music, non-flame cooking, basic home science, clay modelling, mehndi, best out of waste, Spoken English, Karate, Martial Art, kick boxing, personality grooming, basketball, skating, art and craft that were designed according to their age group and interest. The students participated with great zeal and interest. The summer camp gave wholesome exposure and inculcated beneficial & effective skills in learners. All parents were amused to see their wards brimming with talent. School Principal Mrs. Rajni Angrish applauded the efforts of the students and appreciated them for their concentration, learning and imagination. On the concluding day, students enjoyed the party. Refreshments were served to them. E- Certificates were also provided to them for participation.
